Akhil Aendapally
Cloud platform and technology leader who sets strategy, drives execution, and operates enterprise-scale public cloud platforms across AWS, Azure, and GCP — currently leading Bloomberg's public cloud platform organization within the CTO Office.

From fragmented infrastructure to a governed, self-service platform.
I set strategy, build the operating model, and run the platform — so engineering teams ship on paved paths instead of reinventing infrastructure.
Own the full platform surface area: infrastructure, identity & access, security & compliance, developer experience & golden paths, CI/CD & automation, observability & reliability, DR, FinOps, and hyperscaler & platform-vendor strategy.
Advancing the enterprise Cloud Developer Platform by bringing AI agents, MCP, and knowledge bases into infrastructure provisioning workflows for governed, self-service deployment.
Report a tailored KPI set to executive stakeholders: engineering leverage and reliability to the CTO, unit economics to the CFO, control coverage and audit-readiness to risk leadership, and security posture to the CISO.
Former AWS Senior Solutions Architect who influenced AWS product strategy and a 3× AWS re:Invent speaker; designed and built distributed, high-throughput, low-latency AdTech platforms.

Cloud Platform Leadership
13+ years building and operating cloud platforms.
From server support to leading a 90-engineer public cloud platform org — tap any role to expand.
Public cloud platform leader within Bloomberg's CTO Office, owning strategy and roadmap execution for public cloud infrastructure and platform engineering across AWS, Azure, and GCP — defining the shared-responsibility model that delineates platform-owned capabilities from business-unit responsibilities.
- Transformed Bloomberg's public cloud operating model from fragmented, team-by-team infrastructure into a centralized platform with a shared-responsibility model — freeing business units from running their own DevOps/SRE so they could redirect engineering capacity to product and revenue work.
- Set the strategic direction and operating model for the Public Cloud Engineering organization as it scaled across multiple teams in New York and London — partnering with engineering managers on team design, headcount, and senior technical talent development.
- Drove the strategy and delivery of a multi-tenant, API-driven self-service cloud platform, moving teams onto governed golden paths — driving a 30% gain in developer productivity and a 43% reduction in operational overhead.
- Re-platformed infrastructure delivery off hand-built Jenkins/Groovy pipelines onto governed policy-as-code orchestration (Spacelift/TACOS) with GitOps approvals, a module registry, drift remediation, and local pre-deployment validation against all policies and WIZ scans.
- Defined zero-trust, least-privilege access: scoped just-in-time user access (100% of users), short-lived attested workload identity (Defakto/SPIRE) replacing static credentials (~80% of workloads), and self-service secrets/key/cert management (~85% auto-rotated).
- Established Kronos, Bloomberg's central managed-Kubernetes platform — provisioning standardized EKS/AKS/GKE clusters into team accounts with built-in guardrails, networking, and policy, plus an automated upgrade workflow that cut app-team cluster maintenance effort by 47%.
- Secured the software supply chain end-to-end: hardened, compliant base images by default (golden AMIs and buildpacks across cloud and on-prem), with WIZ scanning every image and generating SBOMs to block non-compliant deployments.
- Turned cloud networking into a self-service platform capability — abstracting connectivity behind APIs and a hub-and-spoke fabric that cut on-prem connectivity provisioning from 8–12 weeks to 1 day via an API request.
- Designed and piloted the CDP Agentic Platform — a multi-agent system (requirements analysis, policy-grounded architecture design via MCP, automated review, and provisioning) that cut the architecture-to-deployment cycle from two weeks to under a day across 4 pilot teams, open-sourced as a public reference implementation.
- Delivered a gateway Kubernetes cluster hosting the Envoy AI Gateway as the secure control point for third-party LLM and agent access, enabling 6 business-critical teams to adopt enterprise-safe AI via AWS Bedrock & Vertex AI.
- Established a central observability pipeline (Cribl) with self-service Grafana Cloud dashboards, giving teams unified logs and metrics that reduced mean-time-to-detect/resolve.
- Partner with Finance & Procurement on cloud capacity, forecasting, and commitment strategy — securing commitment-based discounts that cut overall cloud costs 35%.
- Operate Bloomberg's Cloud Governance Council (the public cloud architecture review board) with the COO organization, and led SOC 2 Type II readiness for BQuant Enterprise with automated WIZ evidence collection reusable as a firm-wide compliance accelerator.

A few representative builds — from an open-source agentic platform to AWS services I helped bring to market.
CDP Agentic Platform
A multi-agent system for governed infrastructure — requirements analysis, policy-grounded architecture design via MCP, automated review, and provisioning. Cut the architecture-to-deployment cycle from two weeks to under a day across 4 pilot teams. Open-sourced as a public reference implementation for agentic platform engineering.
AWS RTB Fabric
Co-led ideation and delivery of a new AWS service with AWS product teams, purpose-built to cut compute and data-transfer costs for real-time bidding. Proven across POCs with 2 DSPs and 3 SSPs.
Real-Time Bidding Reference Platform
An open-source reference bidder for advertising on AWS, benchmarked for extreme throughput and efficiency — adopted as AWS Solutions Library guidance.
S3 Existing-Object Replication
Influenced the Amazon S3 service team to build existing-object replication through an opportunity document capturing requirements from ~20 Fortune 100 customers and sizing the data-replication business opportunity.
ML Brand & Product Insertion for CTV
Architected an ML pipeline for brand/product insertion in connected-TV advertising, analyzing video content to place relevant products automatically. Published with TripleLift.
Sub-10ms Contextual Platform on Outposts
Designed an ultra-low-latency contextual-analysis solution on AWS Outposts to meet B2B SLAs for real-time digital ad bidding. Published with GumGum Verity.
